The Guardians of the Globe barely hangs on against Doc Seismic and his legions of underearth. He would have escaped, had Shapesmith not transformed himself into one of the underearths and captured Doc Seismic. This impressed the Immortal, which prompted him to offer Shapesmith a place in the Guardians of the Globe.
