I know somehow they’ll be coming back one way or the other, most likely this is just one of Moira’s many lives anyway, but the way Jonathan Hickman wrote the deaths of Wolverine and Nightcrawler is just amazing. I can’t help but feel for them as they make their final sacrifice to destroy Master Mold. Hickman really nailed Nightcrawler’s characterization as he comforted his friend Wolverine about the afterlife.

Wolverine: So… I gotta ask… You still think there’s something waiting for us on the other side?
Nightcrawler: Worried about your soul, Logan?
Wolverine: Just wonderin’ what someone like me should expect.
Nightcrawler: When you wake from this earthly slumber, my friend, look for me. I will be there, waiting for you…radiant and with open arms.

And how about the sentinel’s first words, associating humans as gods and the mutants as titans?

  1. How long did Logan last alive this time? Well the last time he came back like a year after so I guess there is that.
