I don’t get why Otto had to make a bargain with Mephisto to turn himself back into Doctor Octopus. He says it’s because he’s lost his edge and made himself predictable, which allowed the Norman Osborn Spider-man from another dimension to continuously beat him.
But in this fight, all he did to beat Norman Osborn is to activate all of his old Doctor Octopus harnesses. Couldn’t he had done that as Superior Spider-man? Feels like a really cheap way for Marvel editorial to turn him evil again. Such a shame for all those wasted character development, his Superior series as one of the few bright things that Marvel was churning out.
