After his first failed attempt at breaking Wonder Woman using the Lasso of Lies, the Sovereign locked her alone inside a room powered by Luthor’s technology for months on end. Deprived of human contact and company, her meals came sporadically, distorting her sense of time. The torture was so severe that Wonder Woman began hallucinating, imagining conversations with Steve Trevor and even admitting to eating a male rat that had wandered into the room.
Soon, a female rat entered the room looking for her husband. Wonder Woman confessed her actions, and the female rat decided to comfort her. Through it all, Wonder Woman was able to steel her resolve, much to the surprise of the Sovereign.
