Ultra-Humanite uses installed some controlling technology into Batman, as well as giving him the same exploding power as Atomic Skull. He then uses Batman against Superman but unbeknownst to him, Batman gave Superman a clue, or a reminder, on how to destroy Ultra-Humanite’s control over him. With Ultra-Humanite’s back turned, Batman’s takes him down with a taser of some sort.
