Batman reveals to Nightwing that his great-grandfather was a Talon, and that had Dick Grayson not been taken in by Bruce Wayne, then he would also have been turned into a Talon. It seems Haly’s Circus presents a crop of candidates to the Court of Owls every decade, and the members choose one in secret to be trained as that era’s Talon.

Batman is an abuser pure and simple. And the man is a psycho. Nightwing appears to be somebody who “likes” to get punched. I don’t care how brilliant Batman appears to be in this, but there are better ways to remove somebody’s tooth–with their cooperation–without abusing them. Just one more question: did Bruce get dental care for Dick Grayson when Dick was a kid? Wouldn’t they have discovered this tooth earlier?
Yeah batman comes across as a dick sometimes , especially in this situation . He’s more like a smart abusive father and nightwing still afraid little child . And yes as batman trains you to grow up to become a ninja , excellent dental care is apart of that training lol .
