There’s a certain homage in this sequence of events. Before the New 52 and Rebirth, Bane once had Batman fight all of his villains in quick succession and without rest. Once the Dark Knight was all done and weak, Bane swoops in and then breaks his back. Here, Batman’s doing something similar to Bane by arming all of Arkham Asylum’s inmates and putting them in Bane’s path.
Not seen here is how he dealt with Two-Face and the Scarecrow.
