The Batman from Earth -12 lost it when he thought Wonder Woman, who I think he was in a relationship with, died because of Ares. The God of War seems to have crafted a powerful helmet that allowed him to defeat the heroes of this alternate Earth, only for Batman to wear the helmet itself.
