Spider-man takes on Phoenix 5 members – the siblings Colossus and Magik. Spider-Man’s hopelessly out powered by the two cosmic-powered mutants, but he uses his brains and goads the two into fighting each other. When the Avenges rescue party finally enters the volcano, where the fight occurred, Spider-man was beaten out of his wits but managed to knock both mutants out of the overall conflict against the X-men.
