Superman is faced with the challenge of saving an entire species from an exploding planet, similar to what happened to Krypton. But what can the Man of Steel do when majority of the population are religious zealots who believe that dying with their planet is what their god wants?
It’s a good reminder to everyone that despite having a number of super powers, Superman can’t always save the day. All he can do is try and help, and be a positive influence even if it doesn’t work.
I like how in the end, even the leader of the religious zealots acknowledges that even though he doesn’t like Superman, the latter only genuinely wants to help.
