Before the New 52, Black Canary was voted in as the Justice League’s chairwoman, their de-facto leader. When Batman died, Green Lantern decided that the League wasn’t pro-active enough against threats so he decided to form his own splinter group and took a few heroes with him. With Superman planning to spend more time in New Krypton while Wonder Woman has duties in Themyscira, Black Canary decided to disband the Justice League.
The remaining members, Green Lantern John Stewart, Doctor Light, Vixen, and Zatanna would decide to continue being the Justice League.
